Runture - A Running Adventure

group run

Open to runners, hikers, and everyone in between — a small-group adventure weekend in the heart of Snowdonia, limited to just four places per booking.

Based in Blaenau Ffestiniog, this guided weekend is built around you. Whether you want to run, hike, or a mix of both, over two days you'll get out into some of the best scenery Snowdonia has to offer — summit climbs, hidden waterfalls, quiet valley trails — with two nights of accommodation sorted, so all you need to do is turn up.

What's included:

  • Friday Night Accommodation — arrive, settle in, meet the group and your host
  • Saturday Adventure Day — the bigger day, shaped around what you want: summits and big views, or a longer exploring route at your own pace
  • Saturday Night Accommodation — rest, refuel, and recover
  • Sunday Adventure Day — a shorter, gentler day, still packed with scenery and variety
  • A friendly, supportive atmosphere with an experienced local guide
  • Routes chosen for safety, beauty, and adventure — running or on foot

With only four spaces available per booking, this weekend offers a personal, relaxed, and memorable experience — whether you're a runner chasing a challenge, a hiker after a proper escape, or a small group of friends who just want a great weekend outdoors together.

Every day can be shaped to suit you or your group — big peaks and big views, or quieter trails and hidden waterfalls, whichever sounds like your kind of weekend.

Choose Your Adventure

This isn't a one-size-fits-all itinerary. Before your weekend, we'll talk through what you want to get out of it, and shape both days around that. A few examples of how people run (or walk) this weekend:

  • The Summit Chaser — big climbs, ridge lines, and the best views Snowdonia has to offer
  • The Waterfall Hunter — a gentler pace, seeking out hidden waterfalls and quieter, less-trodden trails
  • The Mixed Group — some running, some hiking, same route, same pub at the end of the day
  • The Long Explorer — skip the summits, keep the distance, cover more ground on rolling trails

However you want to spend your two days, the aim is the same: get off the beaten track, see somewhere brilliant, and finish the weekend feeling like you've properly explored it.

Weekend Schedule

Friday — Arrival & Settle In

  • Check into your Friday night accommodation
  • Meet your guide and fellow adventurers
  • Evening briefing and route overview — this is where we talk through what you want from the weekend

Saturday — The Big Adventure Day Approx. distance: 14–18 miles (running) / flexible for hiking pace Focus: shaped around you — big climbs and dramatic Snowdonia views, or a longer route exploring waterfalls and quieter trails

The first day takes you deep into the mountains surrounding Blaenau Ffestiniog. If you're after a challenge, expect steady climbs, rewarding summits, and sweeping panoramas across the national park. Prefer to skip the peaks? We'll find a longer, rolling route instead, taking in hidden waterfalls and quieter corners most visitors never see. This is your day — the pace and focus are entirely up to you and your group.

  • Chance to explore the local town and area
  • Second night of accommodation

Sunday — Scenic Flow Day Approx. distance: 10–14 miles (running) / flexible for hiking pace Focus: gentler elevation, valleys, lakes, and forest trails

After a good night's rest, Sunday offers a more relaxed route with less climbing but just as much beauty — rolling trails, slate-lined paths, and peaceful Snowdonia landscapes. Finish by noon, perfect for travel home.

Accommodation (Friday & Saturday Nights)

Two nights of accommodation are included, so the weekend runs smoothly and stress-free. You'll stay in comfortable, clean, adventure-friendly lodging close to the start point — and you'll get to meet Kara, your host's Husky, who by the end of the weekend will want to be your best friend.

Accommodation is self-catering, so bring what you need. Some basics are provided — milk, locally sourced eggs, tea, coffee, oats — and there are local shops, takeaways, and a few eateries just 10–15 minutes' drive away.

Shared social spaces and secure kit storage are provided. This is your host's home, made available to keep the weekend easy — if you'd rather organise your own accommodation, that's fine too.
